Today Cisco announced that they will acquire Cognio in the first quarter of their fiscal year 2008. Cognio and Cisco have been working together for quite a while to provide spectral analysis tools to Cisco’s enterprise customers. Cisco’s announcement today reinforces the importance of spectrum analysis tools to help troubleshoot and manage wireless networks.

Pat Calhoun at Cisco wrote a blog post earlier this week about the growing issue of interference in wireless networks, called "Your Network’s Worst Enemy."
