During the Thanksgiving holiday I like to ponder the things I’m thankful for. The past year at MetaGeek has been busy and exciting as we have Wi-Spy 2.4x and Chanalyzer 2.0 (and 2.1). We’re very grateful for everyone in the community who has encouraged us, offered feedback, suggestions, or even just clicked the “Send Error Report” after a Chanalyzer crash!

Getting a startup off the ground is hard work (as many of you know from firsthand experience), but every time I read an email about how a customer used Wi-Spy to solve a bizarre interference issue I know that all the hard work is worth it. So thank you for your support and feedback; it is the force that keeps us going. If you have feedback on Chanalyzer let Brian know (develop@metageek.net). Also, if you encounter a bug in Chanalyzer send him an email. We have fixed all of the bugs we know about, but I’m sure there are more bugs lurking in the code 😉

On the giving side of Thanksgiving I have been following news about the One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) program since it was announced a few years ago. I wholeheartedly agree that knowledge is power, and that by getting more knowledge into the hands of less-fortunate children they will be empowered to raise their standard of living. OLPC isn’t out to solve all the world’s problems, but I believe it is a good step in the right direction. Therefore, MetaGeek will be donating 5% of December’s online sales revenue to the OLPC project.
